Students in 1st -4th grades can participate in sports through the Catholic Youth Orgaination (CYO), a local league founded on the principles of Play Like A Champion Today. Parents are directly responsible for registration and coordination through CYO.

St. Austin is a PLACT school and all coaches and parents attend annual workshops.
St. Austin fields teams in the following sports for 5th through 8th grades in the CAPPS Athletics League:

St. Austin Athletics can also accommodate students who play any of the following sports: golf and tennis.
All school sports are coached by experienced coaches, existing faculty, and/or parent volunteers. Our coaches set a standard of athletics being a vehicle by which students learn to challenge themselves, compete with character, and give glory to God with the gifts He has given them.
Athletics are an integral part of the St. Austin experience. Our athletic department guarantees that each student-athlete will learn the fundamentals of their sport and learn lessons that will remain with them throughout their life that are grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Paulist Fathers.
St. Austin Catholic School is one of 14 schools that is a member of the Catholic Area Private and Parochial Schools League (CAPPS). The mission of the league is: “To promote and encourage student-athletes from member educational schools to grow and develop in citizenship, character, and good sportsmanship by providing and organizing balanced competition and fair play.”
